How Many??

At first I thought I understood but now think I may be wrong.  How many ridges and stitches should you have on your needle before you start the increases?

Thanks--Amy

I thought, from reading the pattern, that you just start increasing when you get down to 5x[K]. I don't see anything about the ridges for the first increase. Is that what you are talking about?

There's a part in the pattern that says something like decrease 22x (90 stitches) then start increasing at the same points. I'm just not sure if that means I should have 90 stitches on my needle before starting my increasing? And how many rows is that? Because I haven't kept track of how many decreases I've done so I'm not sure where to stop--tee-hee
