As much as I hate finish work the baby that my BSJ is intended for will be here any time now. So, I had to finish up. I did use the 3-needle bind off for the arms, and decided not to add a collar. I do have the idea that an old fashioned crocheted lace collar would make a wonderful addition, but realistically this child would be in college before I got around to doing that!
The buttons I used were hand made by a New Hampshire craftsman. They are pewter, and have the Tree of Life on them. I'm going to steam block this a bit, as it's a bit more rumply than the last on I made with machined yarn, but after that it's ready to wrap and gift.

Wow! I am awestruck by your finished work, use of color, and beautiful pewter buttons! After frogging my BSJ over the weekend, your project is inspiring me to give it another try. Lucky baby, lucky family, and talented you! It's just beautiful.
Gorgeous. Love that yarn, love the buttons, love it, love it, love it. Now if I could only get mine done. phew!
That is really amazingly beautiful!!! I think the whole thing is just perfect. Congrats!
Thanks so much for all the compliments! If the baby's parents like the sweater half as much I will be very pleased!
